About The Author
Rachel DePalma is a survivor, certified coach and advocate. She is also the founder of No Peace No Quiet®, a California-based 501c4 nonprofit dedicated to creating safe online and offline spaces for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. With three decades of executive experience in supplier-relationship management and a deep understanding of systemic dysfunction, Rachel’s work bridges trauma recovery, accountability, and policy reform. Her writing exposes how institutions fail survivors — and how truth-telling becomes both rebellion and redemption.
Rachel’s voice blends memoir intimacy with investigative clarity. She writes with the emotional precision of Chanel Miller, the moral force of Rachel Louise Snyder, and the grounded introspection of Roxane Gay. Her tone is confessional yet disciplined — raw but refined — guiding readers from chaos to comprehension. Her words don’t just tell a story; they deconstruct the machinery that enables abuse and silence.
Voice of The Author
This is my story of love, betrayal and covert abuse that led to rape. This book exposes the gaslighter’s playbook and the ugly truth about our flawed legal system when it comes to abuse and rape from the police to the district attorney as well as the lawyers who defend the predators.
I am hoping once you read my story of covert abuse that led to rape also known as intimate partner violence (IPV) you will have learned to pick up on the signs of a covert abuser and know what rape looks and feels like in intimate partner relationships.
For the general population, little information is known about rape in an intimate partner relationship because very few victims come forward for fear of not being believed. Law enforcement is not properly trained in this scenario of rape and due to society’s biases against abuse and rape victims, district attorneys cannot get a jury to convict a rapist who was in a relationship with the victim.
